Banff, better than expected

Zyka on Banff Avenue is the anchor — an elevated Indian room at 4.7 across nearly 3,000 reviews, and the reason many Muslim visitors eat better in Banff than they feared. Banff Shawarma on Wolf Street covers the quick end — regulars call it a fully halal option in the middle of town — with Saffron nearby for a second Indian opinion. Pack from Calgary, seriously

The move seasoned families know: hit a Calgary butcher the day before — the butcher guide has the counters, and grills and coolers do the rest. Marinated kebabs from Parsa Kabob's counter or a Westwinds shop travel beautifully, and half the picnic sites in the parks have fire pits.
