Canmore Shawarma
Reviews of Canmore Shawarma
from GoogleI ordered the mix wrap for me and a mix shawarma plate for my wife. Both were very good. The wrap was awesome and plenty of food after a long day of hiking and exploring.
If you’re lucky enough to get the Lumprais of the “secret” menu, you’re in for a treat! This is a very famous Sri Lankan dish filled with rice, chicken, egg, and vegetables, which was delicious. It was enough for 3 people.
Stop scrolling and go. They make criminally good wraps and amazing biryani with unhinged levels of flavor. Whenever I'm there, I see a queue cause they're quite popular. You can tell that they really care about their food and what goes into it. They're also local, family owned & operated and just amazing people 🫶🏼
Excellent service and delicious food. The wraps were fresh and tasty, and the rice platter was especially flavorful. A great dining experience overall.
☹️Terrible Experience! Staffs don’t listen actively! Told them not to put onions on anything but they still did. They didn’t give the items within short intervals between each of them! And lastly too much loud Punjabi rap music. Too sad!!!😔 food is really good but services and atmosphere is minus!!! ⛔️
Chicken and beef wrap was really good but damn that lamb samosa was delicious.
Shawarma was amazing, but the garlic potatoes stole the show. This is a must visit place in Canmore. Staff we're very friendly, and the service was excellent. Counter service and small dine in area with a great view. Update: Visited again in 2026, stand by my review: must visit!
아점으로 뭘 먹을까 하다가 사진 보고 와봤는데, 너무 맛있게 잘 먹었어요:)) 구글 리뷰 두번째? 쓰는거 같은데 리뷰쓸만큼 맛났답니다
Was a fan of this place back from 2022, everything was great until yesterday: shawarma was dry, vegetables were not fresh, request to avoid hot sauce was ignored, no napkins included.
Canmore Shawarma is a great spot for a quick and delicious meal. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served fast. The service was excellent—friendly, efficient, and welcoming. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch or dinner, you can count on getting tasty food and great customer service. I highly recommend Canmore Shawarma to anyone looking for a satisfying meal in Canmore!
"I ordered the Chicken Platter and it was easily one of the best meals I've had. The portion size was huge—definitely enough for two people. The chicken was perfectly seasoned with a great char, served over a bed of fluffy yellow rice. The standout for me was the garlic potatoes; they were crispy on the outside and soft inside. Everything felt so fresh, from the tangy pickled turnips to the creamy hummus. Highly recommend if you're looking for a hearty, authentic meal!"
About Canmore Shawarma
Halal shawarma restaurant at 802 Bow Valley Trail in Canmore, one of two halal counters in the Bow Valley.
What to order
The mix wrap is bigger than it looks. For a sit-down meal, the chicken platter brings charred chicken over yellow rice with pickled turnips and hummus, plus garlic potatoes that are crisp outside and soft inside. Diners say the potatoes stole the show. The biryani is good too, and the lamb samosa has been praised.
Off the menu
Ask about the lumprais, a Sri Lankan dish of rice, chicken, egg and vegetables. It is on a secret menu and is not always available, but one diner says it was big enough for three people.
Good to know
Expect a queue, though it moves, because the place is popular. Repeat your order back to the counter when you place it. The wraps are fresh and tasty, and the rice platter is especially flavourful. There is a small dine-in area with a great view, and the music makes the room lively.
