Hussaini Association of Calgary (Imambargah)

A Shia Ithna Ashari Islamic centre on 34 Street SE, serving as Calgary's Imambargah since 1986 - one of the oldest Shia institutions of its kind in the city, and still in the same role nearly forty years on. What happens here Daily prayers and the major commemorations, in a hall reviewers describe as deep, spacious and well kept. A Sunday school run by the community for its own children, which parents single out as the association's most valued service. Regular religious programmes and gatherings through the year, which is much of what an Imambargah is for. Good to know Step-free entrance and restrooms on site. One of two Shia centres on this map, alongside Bab-ul-Hawaij in the northeast. Rated 4.9 from more than 150 Google reviews.
