FOOD SAFETY COMPROMISED (zero star restaurant) I am requesting that Alberta Health Services inspect the Fritou Chicken location in Carrington due to concerns about food safety and food-handling practices that I experienced during my visit. During my visit, I ordered chicken and four plates of rice for myself and my children. The chicken was served first. Although it was hot, it was extremely oily, with oil visibly dripping from the pieces. The rice arrived later. My children had already eaten a few spoonfuls before I tasted it and discovered that it was completely cold. While I was trying to get the attention of an employee, another customer entered the restaurant and immediately complained that the wrap they had received was also cold. The employee took that customer's wrap back into the food-preparation area. The employee then collected our tray containing four partially eaten plates of rice and took it into the kitchen. A short time later, the same plates were returned to us after the employee explained that the rice had been reheated. I found this concerning because the food had already been eaten from, the tray had been handled at our table, and the employee had spoken over it before taking it back into the kitchen. When I questioned what had happened, I was told that the rice had been cooked earlier and placed in a warmer, but the warmer had not kept it hot. If that explanation is accurate, I am concerned that the rice may not have been held at an appropriate serving temperature before it was served to customers. The experience left my children unwilling to continue eating because they felt nauseated by both the condition of the food and the way it had been handled. We had spent approximately $80 on the meal, yet we did not receive food that we considered acceptable or confidence that it had been handled appropriately after it left our table. Rather than offering a refund, the restaurant wrote a promise of "$50 off your next visit" on the back of my receipt. I do not intend to return. I respectfully ask Alberta Health Services to review this location's food storage, hot-holding temperatures, reheating practices, handling of food returned from customers' tables, and procedures to prevent cross-contamination. My purpose in submitting this complaint is to help ensure that food safety standards are being followed and that other customers are not exposed to similar concerns. Updated: Food picture/ receipt will be uploaded shortly before they rudely undermine my review like those i just read after submitting mine.

Came in last night, chicken pieces are on the smaller side, but wish the spicy chicken was done in a wet brine rather than just tossed in a dry spice blend. Gravy is very thin and salty tastes exactly like those club house instant gravy packets at grocery store. Although chicken was freshly made and I did wait 25 minutes the service could have been better. Standing there for 5 min there was no one at the till, then when he finally came out he, picked up the phone and took another order rather than me standing right in front of him.

A very busy place which is great to see. The fried chicken was very crispy and tasty. Buffalo wings were great as well. A huge menu and I plan to try the fish and chips next time I go.

We've been going to this location for year now.Even with long absences the owner has recognized us and if he's there he will stop by and say hello. The servers are always courteous and attentive and food is always what we expect. We had butterfly shrimp and chips today and it was fabulous. We normally go there and have burgers or tao rice bowl and you can't go wrong with those. They even have fish and chips.

This is one of the best chicken spots in Calgary. The service and the community is one of the best experience i’ve had. The food comes in fresh and it tastes amazing. The female staff that serves me most of the time is amazing and she is very generous.
