California Thai has been a mainstay of Beacon Hill for almost 17 years. We have tried virtually everything they have on the menu, from the mango chicken salad to the curries, fried rice and various noodle dishes, and everything is always tasty and consistent. This time we had the chicken ho fun (oyster sauce style) and general tso chicken with rice and they were both great. You can customize the heat level as well. They are our go-to place if we're in the neighborhood and want a quick bite to eat.

I don't really expect the kind of high quality and and the like that you get from high say an independent restaurant, I don't expect to get that from a chain. One of the exceptions of this rule by the way seems to be noodlebox, which has excellent food. California Thai Calgary is acceptable. I wouldn't say that there's any reason to go back, but the food was filling and the service is really friendly and good. And the place was clean.

California Thai has become one of my regular go to spots ever since I discovered it. The owners are such lovely people, and the food is always consistent in taste and quality. I haven’t had a single dish from the menu that I’ve been disappointed with everything has been fulfilling and satisfying. Definitely worth it every time!

We have ordered catering from here and also ordered take outs on multiple occasions. The service here has always been on point! The couple go out of their way to listen to your requests, provide GENEROUS portions for good value and I love that their preparation is on the healthier side with a lot of vegetables and less oil in their dishes. We do find that they seem to go easier on the spices, so it could be on the milder side for those used to authentic Thai heat and flavours. The food is delicious nevertheless and we usually just ask them to make it extra spicy for us. Definitely recommend!

Portions are so large and very reasonably priced! I've been coming here forever and not much has changed. Food quality, portion sizes, and price have always been consistent. Can't go wrong with some quick takeout thai food that probably serves the average person 2 meals per order!

2 stars only because the food is good and both the younger man and older man are nice. The lady is a nightmare every. Single. Time. She yelled at me once because she couldn’t hear my order (I was with a friend that saw it all go down and I felt so embarrassed that I wanted to leave). Another time I went in to place a large, expensive order and she got impatient and started shouting in her language. The younger man rolled his eyes and told her to calm down, and fortunately he took over the cash register and took my order very professionally. My family really loves the food there, but after a recent experience of her charging my senior mother for 4 dishes when we ordered 3, and thinking we wouldn’t notice, I feel so scammed. When we politely pointed out the error and asked for a refund, she again started shouting in her language. The older man had to come take over and send her to the kitchen, and he was nice, but at this point her energy is too negative, trashy and makes me feel unsafe. I told my family they can keep going there to be yelled at if the food is so worth it to them but I won’t be going. I’ll order food in a place where I’m not yelled at and then scammed on top of it. It’s funny, she tried to rip us off for $20 but now she’ll end up losing out on hundreds of dollars from me in the future. I used to order from there for 7-8 people on Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. When you’re a greedy dishonest person, you will always lose out in the end!! 🖤

I had ordered from here on skip a few times, but today I went in myself and just had to compliment on the experience. I Placed a big order intended for a family of 6 (got pad Thai, ginger beef, coconut rice, chicken stay skewers and Ho fun noodles). Everyone ate second portions because even though we were all full after our first plates, we just had to have a bit more. Fast easy service, packages nicely and above all else, simply delicious food. Even the pickiest of eaters in our household couldn’t get enough! Tens across the board No notes.
