from GoogleA great experience. Restaurants is extremely clean. Bathrooms were well kept. Most of all. This is the best donair I've ever had in my life. I am a fat man and I eat a lot of food. . Things that make this stand out to be the best. It's the extra crunch on the outside toasted to Golden perfection. Lightly pressed it's truly an inspiration. Every flavor pops. I got the chicken and beef and it was 100% worth it. It definitely don't feel like you're eating mystery meats. The presentation on this meal was precise. And it was extremely delicious. Would definitely recommend this place. And I definitely will be coming back.

Had a lil issue with Uber today and the manager was so helpful and escalated it so promptly and professionally. Such a great gesture and good attitude. Food is really good too. Appreciate it and keep up the good work
I've seen this place go through alot of change through the years and honestly Avesta shawarma is the best one! Love their customer service and how generous they are with the portion sizes. Also a good price deal. Overall great shawarma place and very welcoming staff.

Totally understand that businesses need to protect their profits, but what disappointed me most was the complete lack of flexibility and appreciation for a loyal customer. My brother and I have been coming to Avesta Shawarma (Savanna location) almost every week since it opened. We've placed countless orders over the years and have always been happy with the food and service. Recently, there was an issue with one of my Uber orders. I acknowledged the confusion and apologized multiple times, but instead of trying to find a reasonable solution, the staff refused to give me the order. They spent 15-20 minutes discussing it internally and speaking with someone over the phone, only to come back and tell me that I would need to pay an additional 50% on top of my Uber order. Seriously? In the end, I paid the extra amount, but I also told them it would be my last visit. A business should value long-term customer relationships, especially when dealing with customers who have supported them since day one. Instead, I was told that it was about the profit. That's disappointing. There is literally a Jerusalem Shawarma in the same plaza with plenty of other options nearby. If Avesta Shawarma believes that a short-term profit is more important than customer loyalty, then good luck to them. AS FOR ME, MY FAMILY AND MY FRIENDS, THIS WAS OUR LAST VISIT. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING.
We dined at Aveta Shawarma on October 8, 2026, around 9 PM. We really liked the taste of the shawarma, and the food was good. However, we were disappointed with the service. We explained our customized shawarma wrap order three times, and the staff said yes each time, so we thought they understood our request. When we received the order and explained that it was not what we wanted, the female staff member was rude and arrogant . Instead of apologizing, she said they would not make customized orders for us next time. We understand that mistakes can happen, but we hope the staff will listen carefully to customers and treat them politely. We liked the food, but the service made our dine-in experience disappointing. Get the better customer service team!
I come here so regularly and it’s one of the best tasting Shawarma I have come across in Calgary. The food is always on point and the employees are always very welcoming and efficient.
Absolutely delicious and satisfying! The shawarma platter was packed with tender, flavorful meat covered in a rich, creamy sauce. The hummus was smooth and perfectly seasoned, and the fresh veggies added a nice crunch. The warm pita tied it all together. Great portion size, fresh ingredients, and amazing taste — will definitely order again!
Amazing Shawarma place. Generous servering size. I couldn't not finish my large wrap. Meat was super tender and juicy, vegetables were fresh n you can feel their crunch in every bite. We had large Donair wrap, finger licking. We took an hour detour to get to this place after reading google reviews....must say, worth the drive n worth each $ spend. Staff n owner are super friendly. Owner offered us 2 glasses of traditional laban for free...chery on the top, great taste. Highly recommend. If u love Shawarma, this is the place...

What to order
The donair is the one to order. It is pressed and toasted crisp on the outside before it is wrapped, and a mix of chicken and beef works well. The rice bowls are the other favourite, and one diner called a bowl the best shawarma rice they had ever had. The shawarma platter comes with plenty of tender meat, creamy sauce, smooth hummus and warm pita.
Good to know
Staff are friendly and welcoming, and the portions are generous for the price. A large wrap is more than most people can finish, so consider sharing or saving half. Ask for extra pickles, and ask for a glass of laban, the traditional yoghurt drink, which is often offered free with the meal.

It is a good stop for a quick meal or for sitting down with friends and family, and it delivers too. Diners also note how well the team handles a problem, with one manager sorting out a delivery issue quickly and politely.
