Went for the midnight pancake breakfast and it wasn’t busy like expected but that was good cause we got seated fast. They give you truffle popcorn at the table complimentary and omg it’s sooooo yummy. I had the Brussels sprouts which were delicious (has honey) and the mushrooms were also good too. We got the cheese toast but it is not what I was thinking it would be so I would not get it again as it is not cheesy at all. The DJ (Kav) played good music so it was a nice atmosphere (aside from the armies of mosquitos having us as their midnight snack). I would go there again as it was a nice vibe and I can’t stop thinking of the popcorn 🤤

This is my first time in Calgary so I've been trying steaks at different places and so far this has been my favorite. I've had pretty good steak in Montreal, but this eclipses all of them. Not only is all the food superb but the experience/atmosphere of the rooftop patio feels amazing. Seb S. was very knowledgeable of the food and drinks (including the recommended cooking of the steak I chose). It was fun talking to someone who also recently came to Calgary. Never got to choose my own steak knife before, that definitely elevated the experience for me. I recently got a great new job and this is the first time that it feels like I actually celebrated that achievement. Cannot recommend enough.

Everything was amazing. Honestly the best steak I have had so far in Calgary. We went today (Sunday) for the Sunday dining special, the value was so good and yummy. We had the 18oz steak with sides, cheese bread, house salad, baked alaska for dessert as a part of the deal. The food was SO good , like literally every bite was so delicious. I was so impressed with the service as well. Firstly, starting off with the hostesses who were kind and friendly , our server Tanisha who went above and beyond, bartender who presented our drinks very nicely and the guys bringing out our food explaining every dish in detail - everything felt so carefully curated and intentional and truly felt like an experience rather than just a restaurant to have dinner. Our server was the perfect amount of balance between attentive and giving us space, she checked up on us the perfect amount and nothing felt rushed. She was genuine and really nice. I am honestly shocked this was our first time coming to Modern Steak, the standards are very high here, ambiance is modern and cozy and the price to value ratio is on point. We will be back 100%, can’t wait for the next time 👍😊

Came here on Valentines day and had their 5 course dinner. They had pretty good options available, and the service was top notch. Our waiter was very attentive and even over heard me talking about my fav cocktail and he offered to make it even tho its not on the menu. The steak was perfectly done and we absolutely loved the brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. We were lucky to get seated upstairs as it was much quieter and intimate.

I came to celebrate my birthday, and one of the chefs, Ryan, brought out the appetizer he prepared: a sesame-marinated kago inside seared garlic brioche with a sweet soy glaze. Creative, flavorful, and unforgettable. Our server, Angie S. was extremely helpful, guiding us through the menu and explaining where the beef was sourced from and what made each cut unique. She was very attentive throughout our whole meal always making sure we had what we needed! Dessert was another Ryan special! A vanilla panna cotta with red-wine pear reduction, toasted pine nuts, mint, and a cherry—light, balanced, and delicious. Together they made my birthday dinner all the better! I Highly recommend this place for a personal, top tier service and a quality dining experience!
