Akram Jomaa Islamic Centre
One of Calgary's largest mosques, on 39 Avenue NE, and by review volume the most-reviewed mosque on this map. Built for the big congregations, which makes it a hub for the wider community rather than only its immediate neighbourhood - worth knowing when you are deciding where to go for Eid. Praying here Two Jumu'ah sittings, reported at 1:30pm and 2:30pm. Times move with the season, so confirm before travelling. A separate ladies' prayer hall, made by dividing the main hall vertically - a large room with a high roof. A large parking lot, which matters on a Friday more than any other day. Knowledgeable imams, and reviewers note the khutbah rotates between them. Good to know The stairs to the ladies' section get wet in winter, because not everyone uses the shoe stand. Worth knowing if mobility is a concern. Step-free entrance and restrooms. Rated 4.8 from more than 1,100 Google reviews.
