Kabuli Pulao "Afghan Street Food"
Reviews of Kabuli Pulao "Afghan Street Food"
from GoogleI ordered the Chaplikabab from here recently. While the flavor was fine, I found a sharp piece of plastic embedded right in the meat. This is a huge choking and safety hazard. I hope management takes their kitchen cross-contamination and food prep safety more seriously. Check your food before eating.
Very disappointing experience and **extremely poor value for the price. I ordered 2 Chopan Kabobs and 1 Chicken Soup, and the total came to CA$53.51 including taxes, service fee, and tip. Each Chopan Kabob order had 6 pieces, so I received 12 pieces in total. Unfortunately, 6 out of those 12 pieces were mostly bones with only a very thin layer of meat. I would not consider those proper kabab pieces at all. For CA$33.98 for two orders, I expected actual quality meat not half of the order being essentially bones. The chicken soup was also disappointing, it tasted like raw egg, which made it unpleasant to eat and seriously questioned the quality of preparation. For a meal costing over $50, the quality was simply unacceptable. The value for money was basically zero. If you're charging premium prices, the food quality should justify it. Very disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Never go there i never recommend it I ordered one biryani its was very old from almost a week ago and had very bad smiley taste chicken was absolutely had bad smiley I just wasted my time with this merchant.
This is one of my favorite places in Calgary. I come here often for lunch and everything I’ve tried has been so tasty especially the Kabuli Beef and Tikka. The meat is always soft and full of flavor and their fresh bread makes the meal even better. The girls working there are always kind and smiling, which makes the place feel even more welcoming. It’s a simple place, but the food and atmosphere feel homemade and special. Highly recommended! 👍👌
Excellent Afghan restaurant! The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentically prepared. The Kabab, Qabili Palaw, and Mantu were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality offered. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Afghan cuisine. I will definitely be coming back!"
If I could give zero stars, I would. The girl at the front was extremely rude and unprofessional. She did not listen to my order properly. Today, I specifically asked multiple times for the Afghan burgers to be made with the round meat and not the hot dog/sausage. She acknowledged my request, but when I got home, I realized that only one burger had been made correctly while the rest were wrong. I called the restaurant to explain the issue, but instead of taking responsibility, she repeatedly insisted that I had ordered them without sausage, which is not true. I clearly repeated my order several times. Her attitude was disrespectful, and she continuously blamed me rather than trying to resolve the mistake. Customer service and communication are very important, and unfortunately, this experience was disappointing. I hope management addresses these issues and provides better training for staff.

At 4774 Westwinds Drive NE, this Afghan kitchen takes its name from kabuli pulao, the rice dish with raisins and carrots at the centre of an Afghan table.
Order the kabuli beef or the tikka, with mantu and the bread, baked on site. The meat is described as soft, and the fresh bread is one of the things diners come back for. The kababs, qabili palaw and mantu are the other dishes diners mention. An Afghan breakfast is served from opening.
