from GoogleThis evening I came with my toddler at Khalid halal store to buy some meat. I came with my toddler because there’s no one to leave her with at home. Khalid looked angry because my toddler is running around and snapped at her. This made me feel defensive, embarrassed, and deeply frustrated. When I got home I realized also that the cow legs wasn’t cut in cubes as it’s supposed to to be for stew. I think I will never visit this store again.
Picked up some halal steaks here for a recent trip to BC and they were absolutely perfect — fresh, flavourful, and great quality. Highly recommend for anyone looking for premium halal meats in Calgary!
I’ve been regularly buying their fresh chicken and recently tried the fresh goat meat. Great quality, reasonable prices, and a very welcoming owner. Highly recommended!
Came to grab some fresh mutton for dinner. This shop has fresh meats and a very friendly owner who is helpful in helping select the right cut of meat for the job. He sliced up karahi style pieces from a lamb piece and gave me a good price. The meat is high quality and good cuts. No bags full of bones here. I have also gotten cut whole chickens from here as well as boneless mutton. I will not be getting chicken from superstore anymore- and neither should you. Excellent butcher.

Fresh and frozen halal meat is the trade at Khalid Halal Meat and Grocery, a butcher at 4515 Macleod Trail SW in Parkhill that also stocks general grocery staples. It is a shop only, with no kitchen.
What to buy
The steaks are a good first buy, and the fresh chicken, goat and mutton are well regarded. Tell the counter what you are cooking and they will cut for it. Karahi-style lamb pieces are sliced to order at a good price, and boneless mutton and whole cut chickens are available.
What it is like
Prices are reasonable and the service is personal. Khalid, the owner, is happy to help you pick the right cut for the job, so ask for advice if you are trying a cut you have not bought before. Regular customers describe him as very welcoming and say the meat is high quality, with good cuts and little bone.
