Alta Halal Meat is a fully halal butcher and small grocery in the 36 St NE plaza near 64 Ave in northeast Calgary. The butchers cut meat to order in Middle Eastern, South Asian or Western style. The steaks are a favourite: you can have them cut to your weight and thickness, and the meat can be packed the way you want for the freezer. Beef, lamb, goat and chicken are all sold, the chicken is priced low, and there are sausages too. Large orders are taken. Before you go Give yourself some time. Everything is cut and packed to your liking, so this is not a grab-and-go stop. The grocery side stocks Middle Eastern staples and olive oil, and farm eggs are sold. A second store, Wild Rose Butchery, is in NE Calgary if it is closer to you.
