I recently visited Canadian Pizza Unlimited - East Village and unfortunately had a disappointing experience overall. I do want to start by saying that the staff was very friendly and respectful during my visit. The employees themselves were welcoming and polite, and I appreciate the effort they made when interacting with customers. However, the overall experience was extremely uncomfortable for several reasons. The biggest issue by far was the complete lack of tables and chairs inside the establishment. For a place serving hot food, not having any seating available made the entire visit feel rushed and inconvenient. It honestly felt like customers were expected to simply grab their food and leave immediately rather than comfortably enjoy their meal. Being forced to stand while trying to eat completely took away from the dining experience and created a very awkward atmosphere. The surrounding environment also added to the discomfort. Due to the heavy homeless presence around the area, standing outside or lingering nearby did not feel very comfortable or relaxing. Instead of feeling like a welcoming pizza spot where you can sit down and enjoy your food, the experience felt more like being hurried in and out as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, the food itself also did not make up for the uncomfortable atmosphere. The pizza and overall quality were underwhelming and not very memorable. Combined with the lack of seating and overall environment, it made the experience difficult to enjoy. Overall, while the staff was genuinely friendly and professional, the establishment itself needs major improvement when it comes to customer comfort and atmosphere. Something as simple as providing proper tables and chairs would make a huge difference. Right now, the experience feels inconvenient, uncomfortable, and rushed, and unfortunately it is not a place I would personally return to.

I ordered delivery and chose the Create Your Own Pizza option, selecting the toppings myself. I added chicken, ham, pepperoni, salami, beef, donier, and extra cheese, and the pizza arrived hot and well-prepared. The meats were flavorful and cooked nicely, and everything tasted fresh and balanced. Delivery was smooth, and the overall experience was positive. A good choice if you enjoy customizing your pizza to your own taste.

I'm going to update this to a 5-star review if I notice the owner reads this and makes some changes. When we first started coming here, the food was great. The lasagna was amazing, and the pizza was very good for the price. But lately, every time we've ordered the lasagna, it's been soggy and disappointing. It seems like the noodles are being overcooked, and there’s always way too much liquid in the pan. It honestly feels like the noodles are sitting in water too long before being layered into the dish. Maybe try draining or drying them a bit more before adding the sauce, and remember that the noodles continue cooking in the oven too, so they don’t need to be overly soft beforehand. Everything else has still been great — this is really just about the lasagna. The last three orders we've had were unfortunately terrible compared to how it used to be. We used to love it, so we're hoping the recipe or preparation goes back to the way it was before.

Had a great experience at this pizza place! The crust was perfectly baked — crispy on the outside and soft inside — and the toppings were fresh and full of flavor. I also really appreciate that the pizza is halal, which makes it an easy and comfortable choice. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was friendly and quick. Definitely a spot I’d come back to again. Highly recommend if you’re craving a solid, satisfying pizza! 🍕

Not our fave pizza joint. Flavours and dough are really poor for good pizza quality. A major concern for us was the lack of hygienic food handling practices. It is unclear if the staff’s food safe training is up to date? The server guy came in from somewhere and without washing hands proceeded to directly start kneading a pizza out for us. No gloves involved. Further, later we also saw him blow his nose and handle contaminated paper towel before handling more food and surfaces!!! No gloves involved!! Needless to say we reported the matter to him and declined the pizza. Luckily he refunded us for it and also needless to say we won’t be back.
