from GoogleOur Canada trip, from August 30 to September 3, 2026, started with a simple but truly memorable Desi breakfast at Café Karak on Savanna Blvd. NE, Calgary. 🇨🇦❤️ We ordered the classic Halwa Puri, and although it was a simple meal, the quality and taste of the Halwa and Puri really stood out. The Karak Tea was the perfect way to complete our breakfast—warm, comforting, and full of flavor. ☕️ A special thank you to the two young people who served us. Your kindness, welcoming attitude, and wonderful service made our very first meal in Canada even more enjoyable. We truly appreciate you both! We promised ourselves that we would come back and spend more time here, but unfortunately, during our short 4-day visit to Calgary, we couldn’t manage another visit. Hopefully, next time we’ll have more time to sit back, enjoy another delicious breakfast, and experience more of what Café Karak has to offer. Thank you, Café Karak, for making the first meal of our Canada trip so special. We’ll definitely remember it and hope to see you again! ❤️🇨🇦☕️
We had a wonderful time at brunch! The food was bursting with flavor and you could tell it was prepared with real care. Every dish was beautifully presented, and the lattes crafted by Ash were excellent - the pistachio latte was my favorite. The smash burger with paratha was incredible, and the nihari poutine was a creative and delicious mix of flavors. I grew up eating many of these dishes, so experiencing them in a modern fusion style - familiar tastes with a unique twist - was truly mind-blowing. All of the pistachio dishes were the group’s favorite. We honestly weren’t expecting much, since restaurants with cozy aesthetics and cute presentations sometimes fall short on taste, but this one far exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be back! If I had one suggestion, it would be to consolidate the multiple small menus into one - having four separate ones felt a bit unnecessary. Service was fantastic - warm, attentive, and efficient without being overbearing. Gagan and Ishita took such great care of our group. We were four adults and one baby, and the table was comfortable, though being right by the door did make it a bit chilly whenever it opened.
Had a great brunch experience at Cafe Karak! The karak chai was absolutely amazing , rich, flavorful, and perfectly made. We also tried the smash burgers, which were very well constructed and tasted fantastic. A special shoutout to Gagan for the amazing service. She was incredibly helpful and suggested we try the tacos, and they turned out to be a great recommendation! She was a great sport throughout and made our experience even better. Highly recommend this place for brunch and good vibes!
The food was great! Such a unique menu and great varity! I loved the vibes and the fast nice service. Only problem is the price for the food isn't worth it. Very small portions, maybe increasing it would make this a lot better!
We visited cafe karak and it was amazing. Every dish was delicious and their menu is soooo exquisite. Never have I had food like this before. Gagan was so attentive to detail, professional, and we loved our time there. The decor is beautiful too, very well designed cafe that takes you right back home. Will be coming back!!!
Cafe Karak has been an absolute delight! The staff are incredibly welcoming, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the food is some of the best Pakistani fusion cuisine I’ve had. I tried the Valayti Nashta, Ilaichi Karak, Karak Chicken Tandoori Tacos, and the Smashed Burger—which was absolutely to die for! The combination of the juicy beef patty with the flaky lacha paratha was simply outstanding. The Mint Malang drink and Mango Masti were truly out of this world and complemented the meal perfectly. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, showing great attention to detail and passion from the team. I’m yet to try their desserts, but after visiting two days in a row, I can confidently say that every experience has been fantastic. Looking forward to coming back again and exploring more of the menu. Highly recommended! 💕
I had an excellent experience at this café and would highly recommend it! The Fish Pakora was perfectly crispy, flavorful, and not oily at all, which made it incredibly delicious. The texture and taste were spot on. The Chicken Tikka Tacos were the highlight of the meal. They were absolutely delicious, with well-marinated and flavorful chicken, and the tacos were generously loaded with fillings. The Street Style Noodles were also fantastic. They had an authentic Indian street-food flavor and were packed with vegetables like cabbage and peppers, making them both tasty and satisfying. To finish, I tried the Pistachio Milkshake, and it felt like the cherry on top of a wonderful meal. It was rich, creamy, full of pistachio flavor, and absolutely delicious. Overall, everything from the food quality to the flavors was outstanding. A well-deserved 5 star.
This café is so cute inside and the food is amazing! They have a unique fusion menu with lots of interesting food and drinks options. Our server Gagan was friendly and prompt and made our visit so pleasant. We ordered the nihari routine, rose pancakes, and laccha beef burger and all three were so delicious. Our drinks, the biscoff latte, cloud karak, and kashmiri chai were all perfectly made. Wish I lived here so I could come again!

Built around karak chai, this Pakistani-fusion cafe at 63 Savanna Boulevard NE runs a fully halal kitchen with meat from halal butchers. It is a place to sit with friends over a cup rather than grab something quick.
What to order
The halwa puri is the classic breakfast, and the karak tea and ilaichi karak are the drinks to order. For something different, try the smash burger with lacha paratha, the nihari poutine or the karak chicken tandoori tacos. Diners who tried the fish pakora and the chicken tikka tacos say both were well made, and the pistachio latte and the mint malang come up often. Brunch is a strength here.
What it's like
The decor is warm, and the karak chai is rich and perfectly made. The menu is unusual, with several small sections, so take your time with it. Staff are quick and friendly, and the room works well for a group. Order a few plates to share, and on a cold day ask for a table away from the door.
