from GoogleI ate here, the food is BLAND, the garlic sauce tastes like water, i ordered the mixed shawarma platter she gave me like 4 POTATOES and you could look at the salad and taste the meats to know it is not fresh at all. I will be requesting a food service check here, the food just isn't right. And to make matters worse, the service was horrible the lady serving me was so stingy with the portions and kept yelling at me cause she apparently couldnt hear me talk. After eating I discovered something hard in the beef, I have no idea what it is but it was a choking hazard. I will not be coming back, this place is absolute trash.
I got the chicken shawarma plater. The rice is really bland and mushy, the chicken is burnt, and the garlic sauce tastes like nothing. The only thing I liked is the potato, since I got half rice and half potatoes. I have been a loyal fan of villa madina but this experience made me really mad. Never coming to this branch again.
The food was not fresh and their size is very small. I initially saw their crispy shawarma ad and wanted to try it. But they said that they didn't serve it after 2 pm and I was there on Saturday. Then I got their super-sized chicken shawarma and despite its name it was small. Yes, it was the same size as small shawarmas at other places. On top of that, they only had ginger ale and iced tea for drinks. But more importantly the food itself was very mid and they put not a lot of meat. Eating the thing was a chore as their wrapper was glued to the food and I had to deal with that. Do not recommend this place.
Awful place. There’s a sign that says $12.99 for a shawarma platter, so I ordered the shawarma platter. Checkout its $17? I asked and they said oh that’s for one salad only. Nowhere does it mention that and they build the bowl with two salads. The food quality was AWFUL. I was so disgusted and I don’t ever use that word with food. Chicken tasted like it’s been out since last night. Praying that they shut down or fix their act.🙏
The Worst shawarma ever, half filled with fries. It’s false advertising it’s says large size and it’s the smallest chicken pita sandwich. This place not worthy to be called shawarma. Disgraceful, save your money.
They used to be good but not anymore. I bought Kefta Beef plate yesterday at TD square food court, the kefta not well grilled or cooked especially for ground beef is dangerous and they give everything with very small portion like a kid is going to eat this small plate! Also the lady customer services not really well professional ! This is my last time with this franchise.
Bland food
This was one of the worst shawarma experiences I’ve had in Calgary. The guy with the tattoo behind the counter was extremely disrespectful, condescending and seemed more interested in being on his phone than serving customers. There was no proper greeting or customer service and ordering was unnecessarily frustrating. I specifically asked for a meat platter with NO vegetables or salad... just meat, rice and potatoes. I had to explain this multiple times. At one point, he kept trying to tell me they had salad platters, even though I was clearly asking for a meat platter. Even after I ordered, he continued asking me about vegetables and salad. Then I watched him prepare my $18 plate. I received one scoop of rice, some chicken and beef and literally THREE potatoes. That was it. The rice was extremely bland and honestly tasted terrible. The plate was barely half full, and instead of giving me more rice, potatoes or meat since I had specifically requested no salad or vegetables they just left it practically empty...And to make matters worse, the plates here are much smaller than what you get at other shawarma restaurants and apparently pita isn't included with the meal either. $18 for a tiny, half empty plate with bland rice, a small amount of meat, three potatoes and no pita is absolutely ridiculous. The food was disappointing, the portions were terrible and the customer service was even worse. The staff member behind the counter seriously needs to learn basic customer service and respect. Management should seriously reconsider having people like this represent the restaurant. There are plenty of shawarma places in Calgary where you can get a much better portion, better food and actually be treated like a customer. I definitely won't be coming back to Villa Medina
So disgusting food, feels like vomiting after one bite. First I ordered kefta platter, the kefta was so smelly, old & hard to bite, I returned it. Then took a beef & chicken mixed shawrma platter. Again the beef meat was smelly, old & hard, I threw all of them aside. Just try to eat the salad coz I was so hungry & paid almost $20. Nobody should go to this place.
