Visited on April 3 & 4, 2026 This was our first visit, and we initially ordered the Bihari Kebab—which was so exceptional that it brought us back the very next day to explore more of the menu. On our second visit, we ordered Mutton Biryani, Chicken Biryani, Beef Ribs, and another serving of the Bihari Kebab. The owners kindly offered us a small portion of Lucknow Biryani to try, which was a thoughtful gesture and added to the overall experience. Sampling three different types of biryani was a highlight, as each had its own distinct and well-balanced flavor profile. It truly showcased the depth and variety of their cooking. That said, the Bihari Kebab was undoubtedly the star of the show—perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and absolutely memorable. The biryanis followed closely behind, with the beef ribs also being enjoyable. We also tried their Kheer for dessert, which was outstanding and a perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant itself is quite small, with only four tables, making it more suitable for takeout or delivery. However, what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in authenticity and quality. Being a family-run business from Hyderabad, India, the passion and tradition are clearly reflected in every dish. All family members were warm, welcoming, and attentive, adding a personal touch to the experience. Highly recommended — easily a five-star-plus experience.

Very good food. Lots of options to chose from. The owner Sayeed is very cordial too. He helped me to pick my order and it was awesome. They serve halal food. Allow them 5-10 minutes as they prepare fresh food. They do have a small dining area but overall I loved the place. Will highly recommend this place and prices are very affordable.

I stopped in while doing a day trip to Calgary. It’s a quaint little restaurant and the owner, Mohammed was so warm and welcoming to me. All the staff were very kind there. I sat down and tried the mutton dum biryani. Talk about exceptional spices and flavours!!! It is an amazing amount of excellent authentic food and for a great price!!!! The garlic naan was absolutely amazing as well. Had to pack up and take the delicious leftovers home to share with my family and my son really enjoyed a plate full the next day. If you want excellent and authentic curries and gorgeous spices and aromas to try- do visit this wonderful restaurant in Calgary. So many other dishes I’m going to go back to try in the near future. I’ll be definitely going back when I’m in Calgary again. I definitely enjoyed my experience and the delicious food at the Calgary Hot Plate Restaurant & Sweets!! Highly recommend everyone come and visit this restaurant!!!!!!

Today’s choice of Hot Plate Restaurant for breakfast turned out to be an excellent one. The taste of the halwa puri was very good, and the most important thing was that it was not too oily. The brain masala and nihari were also very enjoyable. The seating space inside is somewhat limited, but the quality of the food is excellent.

The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Service was fast and perfectly organized, showing excellent management.
