I purchased two goat raans for Eid for $156 (very high price based on other competitors) and specifically requested that they be marinated. Unfortunately, the marination was extremely disappointing. There was no flavour, and it didn’t seem like any tenderizer had been used. I also purchased 30 marinated chicken legs, and those were equally disappointing. The lack of seasoning and flavour was noticeable across both orders. What was even more frustrating was the customer service. When we called the store to speak with the manager or owner, we were told they were busy. Before we could even explain the reason for our call or discuss our concerns, the call was ended. There was no effort made to understand the issue or help resolve it. This was my first time purchasing from this location, and based on this experience, I won’t be returning. I’ll be sticking with Madina Halal Meats, who have consistently provided quality products and excellent customer service.
We are not from Calgary but whenever we visit Calgary we definitely visit this place for fresh goat meat. Store is pretty spacious but I feel it’s a bit unorganized. The workers are pretty friendly and helpful. Location is very good and convenient. They have variety of fresh meat products. Plenty of parking available. Shop was clean and w/o any unpleasant smell.
Absolutely horrible experience. I walked in wanting to buy 1 kg of lamb shoulder. That is it, just one kilo. The guy behind the counter told me I had to buy the entire piece, which was about 3 kg. I told him clearly that I only needed 1 kg, but he refused to cut it and basically said either I take the whole 3 kg for $97 or he cannot help me. What kind of customer service is that? Not everyone needs 3 kilos of meat. Some people just want to buy a reasonable amount. Instead of helping, he was dismissive and completely unwilling to accommodate a simple request. Honestly, if you are running a butcher shop and you refuse to serve customers properly or make basic cuts, what is the point? If you cannot run a customer friendly business, maybe you should not be running one at all. Terrible service and a complete waste of time.
The place is very clean and the new owners are making an effort at organizing everything. They are very friendly and provide great customer support. Highly recommend.
Guys they always have fresh meat available all the time and the stuff and serving services are best in Calgary. I always happy and satisfied with the quality and service. You must give them a try
Really good expriance at Alnoor Halal Meat. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the meat was quite fresh and good quality. The shop was clean, and the service was great. Definitely recommend checking them out for Halal meat!

I bought fresh beef tomahawk steak from here. I highly recommend buying it. Absolutely amazing quality of meat and perfect butchering of the steak. It was a wonderful halal treat 😍

Fresh goat brings shoppers to this halal butcher and Pakistani grocery on Falconridge Boulevard NE in northeast Calgary, where chicken, lamb, goat and beef are hand-slaughtered zabiha halal in house. The shop runs across two units, and the parking is convenient.
Goat is the main reason people come, and one buyer of beef tomahawk called the cut well butchered and the meat excellent. The shop also stocks South Asian pantry staples, spices and marinated meats for the barbecue. Shoppers describe the store as spacious and clean, with no unpleasant smell, plenty of parking and a good variety of fresh meat. Recent efforts to tidy things up are praised, and the meat department staff are described as knowledgeable and helpful.
Before you go
Agree the cut, the weight and the price before anything is wrapped, so you know exactly what you are taking home. Ask the butchers to split a whole cut to the size you need, and ask about the marinade before you order in bulk. Ask the price of the goat raan first, so there are no surprises.
