I am extremely disappointed with the way my family and I were treated at Genesis Centre during what was already a very stressful and exhausting situation. Due to the prolonged utility outage in Coral Springs, our home was left without running water for several days. The City of Calgary workers repairing the issue specifically instructed residents to use Genesis Centre to shower and access basic facilities while the repairs were ongoing. On the first day, we were welcomed by a gentleman who was professional, kind, and understanding. He registered us, explained everything clearly, and allowed us to use the facilities without any issues. We were extremely grateful. We also saw several other families from our neighbourhood using the facilities for exactly the same reason to have a shower and return home while the water outage continued. This clearly showed that we were not the only residents who had been directed there. The following day, however, we returned only to be refused entry. We were told that Genesis Centre was “not part of the City of Calgary” and that we should never have been sent there. If that was truly the policy, then why were we admitted the day before? Why were accounts created for us? Why were other families from the affected area also being allowed to use the facilities? The complete lack of communication and consistency is unacceptable. What made an already frustrating situation far worse was the way we were treated by a staff member named Jasmeet. Her attitude was dismissive, unsympathetic, and unnecessarily rude. At no point did she show any understanding that we had been without running water for 3–4 days, were still expected to go to work every day, and simply needed somewhere to shower because we had followed the instructions given to us by the City workers. Nobody chooses to be without water for days. We were not asking for special treatment or trying to take advantage of the facilities. We came because we had been directed there by the people managing the emergency. Instead of showing even the smallest amount of compassion, we were made to feel like we were a burden and spoken to in a manner that was completely disrespectful. This experience highlighted not only a complete breakdown in communication but also a shocking lack of empathy. Policies are one thing, but basic decency and respect should never be optional. If Genesis Centre was never supposed to accommodate residents affected by the outage, then that should have been communicated from the beginning. Instead, we were welcomed one day, refused the next, and treated poorly for simply following the guidance we had been given. I sincerely hope management addresses both the inconsistency in communication and the unacceptable customer service we received. Families dealing with an emergency should be met with compassion, not hostility. This was an incredibly disappointing experience, and the way we were treated should never happen to anyone.

we always come to play everyday. we paying membership from 3 months but we didn't get any chance to play to volleyball. worst place ever for playing. don't waste your money. there is always one court available and we always request for the volleyball nets but they just say it's booked already but no one come to play

Lots of parking , nice indoor soccer field. Good management keeping it clean. We play ultimate frisbee every Friday. Staff is attentive and makes sure we get our field on time.
