Byblos Bakery
A Lebanese commercial bakery with a retail counter on 23 St NE - the Byblos pita you see in supermarkets is baked here, and the front shop sells breads, pastries and sweets, with a discounted section at the back. Marked fully halal on the community Halal Map YYC. Read this before you rely on it The cases are packed and the desserts are well made, and the bargain shelf at the back is the tip regulars pass on. But one recent review is a warning: asked whether the food was halal, counter staff could not confirm it beyond "the bakery said so" - and served a knafeh inside a bun without asking. The community map vouches for it; the staff, on that day, did not. For bread and pastry that is rarely the question; for anything with meat, ask. Good to know Open daily 8:30am to 7:30pm. Takeout only; step-free entrance and free parking, though the yard is tight when the trucks are loading. Rated 3.7 from more than 310 Google reviews.
