Birdie (The District at Beltline)
Birdie is a fully halal fried-chicken counter in The District food hall at 227 11 Ave SW in the Beltline, Calgary. The other Birdie is at Shouldice, by the stadium. Order the hot honey chicken sandwich first, or the Nashville. The plain jane is the simpler sandwich. Sliders can be bought singly, which makes it easy to try a few flavours. The poutine is made properly, with a good sauce, and the onion rings are worth adding. Before you go Items are sold separately rather than as meals or combos, so price out a sandwich, poutine and drink before you order. The buns are small for the amount of chicken.
