Chicken On The Way is a Calgary staple. However, since I’ve moved here almost three years ago, I’ve yet to try this establishment. So, I was very excited being in the area this week that I could stop by and try it out. I decided to order the special. I will say, the food came out quite quick which is nice and it was steaming hot when I got it. It’s always nice to know that your food was freshly prepared. Upon tasting, I thought the dark meat was actually quite good. I liked the taste of it. It was quite moist. However, when I had gotten to the white meat, my opinion changed quite drastically. It was extremely dry and really not a great eating experience. So much so that I’m not sure I’d go back. The fries were tasty but also surprisingly a bit dry. Unless I drenched it in ketchup, it wasn’t really worth eating. The fritters were great. I saved one for later and after a bit of time in the microwave, it was still good. So I’m actually very impressed with that. Overall, I’d recommend people to try it out and support local businesses, however I think I’m good with my one trip here.

Normally decent food for the price, got a 5 piece meal tonight and when I got home and opened up the tightly bundled box 2 of the pieces were just bone with almost no meat on them ( see photos ). Absolutely disrespectful putting pieces of chicken in the box like that and when I called them, the best they could do was give a replacement piece of chicken on my next visit, as if that makes up for the disappointment after a 20 min drive both ways and the extra food we had to order since half our meal was missing. I’ve been to the crowfoot location many times as well and have never gotten drumsticks and wings this small ever. Very dissatisfied and feel disrespected that they thought this was acceptable

My family has been coming here since I was a kid and it’s so amazing! I have dreams about the gravy!!! Literally so amazing and I love coming here. Definitely recommend trying if you haven’t.

I’m sad to see all the bad reviews - this place hits so damn good. My favourite late night stop in Calgary. My chicken was hit and moist with crunchy skin and the corn fritters and gravy are crave worthy. I hope they can get their consistency up because when it’s good it’s so good. I do think this food should be ordered at the restaurant and eaten fresh.

First time trying since hearing g this is a “Calgary institution”. Chicken was good quality, but no seasoning or flavour. Fries were good. I heard they were famous for corn fritters, but I found them to be pretty dense doughy balls without any real flavour either.
