This place has such a fun swimming area—the kids absolutely love it! The public pool even has small waves, which makes it extra exciting. The door lock facilities could use a bit of an upgrade, though. The skating area is also a big hit with the kids. Overall, it’s a perfect spot for them to burn off energy!

As a former employee who hadn't visited Village Square Leisure Centre in over a decade, I was disappointed by my recent experience. I visited with a friend to do badminton drills during a time when the gym was relatively quiet. Every group had their own court, and there were no customers waiting to play. Despite this, a Customer Service Representative approached us and told us we needed to share our court. I explained that I had no issue sharing once the facility became busier or if someone was waiting, but when I asked who was waiting for a court, I was not given a clear answer. Since there were available courts and no one waiting, the request seemed unnecessary and inconsistent with the situation. We also had a camera set up to record our drills. It was positioned so that it only captured us and did not record other patrons. We were informed that filming was against policy, so we immediately turned the camera off. A short time later, another CSR approached us and instructed us to turn it off again, even though it was already powered off. This made us feel as though we were being singled out unnecessarily. My concern isn't that staff were enforcing policies. It's that the policies were applied without considering the actual circumstances, and the communication lacked professionalism and common sense. A simple explanation or a more customer-focused approach would have made a significant difference. Having worked here years ago, I remember staff exercising good judgment while still maintaining the rules. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience during this visit. It left me feeling frustrated and unwelcome, and I don't plan on returning anytime soon. I hope management takes this feedback as an opportunity to provide additional customer service training and encourage staff to communicate policies in a more respectful and practical manner. Truly a disappointment.

I enjoy this leisure center. Great weight room and separate training room with mats and boxing equipment. Plenty of parking during the weekdays but gets tight on the weekends. Big plus, it has a small restaurant in it (great price for simple meals) and the Village Square Library! Heads up that steam room and the locker room don't open until around 1 pm during the week.

This was my first time visiting in about ten years, and honestly, I’m disappointed. First of all, many of the lockers in the men's change room are missing locks and keys, which makes them useless for protecting your belongings. When I finally found a functional locker and inserted my $1 coin, the mechanism rejected it. I tried a second locker and the same thing happened. It wasn't until the third locker that it finally worked; this is utterly unacceptable. Furthermore, I checked the Village Square Leisure Centre website yesterday and again this morning. It stated that all facilities were open, but when I arrived at 1:00 PM, everything was closed except for the pool, the hot tub, and the steam room. Since the rest of the facilities didn't open until 3:00 PM, I had to wait two hours. Why doesn't the website specify these staggered opening times? You should ensure everything is operational before opening your doors to the public instead of claiming everything is available. In a way, you are misleading people and wasting their time. Safety is also a major concern. While walking up the stairs to the Thunder slide, I noticed a broken plastic drain cover. I could have easily caught my toe in it, tripped, and been seriously hurt. Additionally, there is a severely dented pipe in the steam room. This is extremely dangerous; if that pipe were to leak or burst, hot steam could spray someone, causing serious injury or even death. You guys really need to get it together. Southland Leisure Centre recently completed a massive renovation and is doing an amazing job. You should follow their lead.

I used to go here a lot and lately I have been coming here more recently. Overall. it is a good community centre and I enjoy coming here. The staff are friendly, the facility has a lot to offer, and it’s a convenient place to stay active. That said, the pool area could be cleaner. Sometimes it doesn’t feel as well-maintained as it should be, especially for a space that gets a lot of use. It’s not terrible, but definitely something that could be improved. Still a solid place overall, but I am just hoping they maybe they would put a bit more attention into cleanliness, especially around the pool.
