UPDATE / FULL REVIEW: I initially had a poor late-night experience here, but management handled the situation exceptionally well. After I reached out, Karim from management gave me a call, had a very candid conversation with me, and took full accountability. He even reviewed the camera footage to use as a training example for staff across their locations. He invited me back to make things right. When I walked in today, the energy in the building was night-and-day compared to my first visit. The whole team was warm and welcoming right off the bat (before they even knew who I was!). I met Shoaib, who was extremely friendly, apologetic, and made sure I was looked after. I got the beef donair wrap with garlic sauce and all the toppings, and it was incredible! Everyone can have an off night, but how management steps up to address feedback and treat their customers speaks volumes. Great leadership, fantastic customer service, and amazing food. Gladly updating this to 5 stars! (Context: My initial 1-star review was due to being ignored by counter staff during a late-night visit around midnight. Management reached out immediately and completely resolved the issue.)

I ordered delivery from the Shawarma Palace 17 Ave SE location and the quality has noticeably dropped. Uber Eats removed the special instructions box, so I couldn't remind them to add the extra sauces I paid for. Even with "All Sauces" selected and paying extra for garlic and sweet sauce, the platter still arrived with very skimpy sauce. Delivery food needs enough sauce to stay moist during transit, and this one came dry even after mixing. The meat is still good, but the sauce portioning has gone downhill. With the recent price increases, I expected the same quality as before. Hoping they improve consistency for delivery orders.

★☆☆☆☆ Very disappointing experience at this location. The shawarma was packed carelessly, the wrap was left open, the filling was falling out, and the sauce leaked everywhere before I could even eat it. When I politely asked about the poor packaging, instead of apologizing or fixing it, both the employee and the manager became argumentative and defensive. Basic food packaging and respectful customer service shouldn’t be too much to expect. I’ve attached photos so others can see the condition for themselves. I won’t be returning to this location.

I tried Shawarma Palace on 17th Ave for the first time and it was fantastic! The portions were generous, and everything was packed with great flavor. The donair wrap was perfectly seasoned, and every bite tasted fresh and delicious.

Well worth the price! A platter ($20) can feed 2 adults (if not 3), a wrap ($10-$15) can easily also feed 2 adults. It was friendly service, fresh, quick and delicious! 🤤
