We have visited this establishment on numerous occasions whenever we crave authentic Bangladeshi cuisine, and it has consistently exceeded our expectations. The culinary offerings are rich in flavor and truly capture the essence of traditional Bangladeshi gastronomy. The staff demonstrate commendable professionalism and warmth, providing attentive and courteous service that enhances the overall dining experience. The food is really good with authentic deshi flavors, and the service is always welcoming. One thing I really like is that they also have a grocery store downstairs. It makes it so convenient to pick up Bangladeshi products after your meal. It’s especially helpful during the winter since I don’t have to drive around to different stores. Definitely a great place for both good food and grocery shopping

We tried Spice Avenue a few days ago, and without a doubt, it is the best Bangladeshi food we have had in Calgary. We moved from Toronto to Calgary a few months ago, and the one thing we truly missed was the food, especially authentic Bangladeshi cuisine. After dining at Spice Avenue, that feeling is completely gone. We have absolutely no regrets about moving here when it comes to food anymore. Everything about the experience was exceptional, from the taste and ambiance to the warmth of the people and the chef. It is the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. The main dishes were outstanding, including the fish, lamb, curries, and bhortas. Even the small details stood out, especially the dal and the tea, which were truly top-notch. They also offer a great variety of snacks, perfect for daytime meetups. The Mughlai Paratha and tea are must-tries. If you drop by, be sure to say hi to Shoyeb Bhai. He is an amazing individual who can recommend the best dishes based on your preferences. I would highly recommend Spice Avenue to anyone looking for authentic Bangladeshi food. Undoubtedly, the best Bangladeshi restaurant in Calgary.

Went there for tehari. Portion size was okay, but the meat was a joke , tiny pieces the size of a half green chili and full of bones. The plate looks like it has a lot of meat, but it’s just tiny pieces. Barely any actual meat in the dish. Asked if it was fresh since it was Friday, but clearly they were just reheating old food. Very disappointing. Same with the haji r biryani they serve.

Would not recommend. Went for dine in- ordered rice, beef with shatkora, chow mein, mixed vegetable and tea. The guy delivered the tea to the table and spilled the tea so, the customers, had to go and get napkins to dry it because he wasn't careful to deliver it without mess. It happens, but then the tea was too bitter to drink even after adding sugar. I couldn't use the teaspoon that we had to get up and get from their counter because it was dirty. I left the tea. We had to wait more than 30 minutes for the food which he didn't tell us. We went up to ask after 25 minutes if the dishes could be served when they are ready. That guy at no point apologized for the delay. The service was abysmal overall- he gave us one plate and one small plate and some cutlery meanwhile two of us were eating so we had to get up and ask for another plate. The plate had a small seed on it and they were not washed properly. The forks all had greasy handles. There was an insect in my water glass so I couldn't drink the water. We were hungry and after over 30 minutes, he said the chow mein will be longer. Rice and mixed vegetable was fine, very basic in flavour. The beef was very hard, and the curry was bland- did not taste of shatkora. The shatkora was also tough, some pieces similar texture to the raw fruit. While we ate, the guy kept dropping cutlery against plates, making loud noise, worsening an already horrible experience. The "chow mein" was spaghetti drenched in a bad tasting sauce, barely any vegetables. We had asked for egg instead of chicken and they gave what looked like one egg. One of us tried the dish then we left the rest of it behind. The server asked what the food was like and passively replied about the spaghetti "chow mein". Still no apology given nor any concern shown for customer satisfaction. Very bad service, we won't be returning. Would recommend people spend their money elsewhere. Wished I had looked at the other real reviews of the 1-star rating reviews before deciding to go here, having them waste our time, and spending $50. Edit since the business owner on Google is extremely unprofessional and rude in their reply probably thinking they are "clever", after serving something that is an insult to the name of "chow mein" and is left behind by customers who PAID. Abhorrent customer service. No one ASKED them for free spaghetti "chow mein". Before this "person's" rude, unprofessional reply, we had decided that that is the LAST time we will visit this "restaurant" with this poor food, lack of customer service and extremely unprofessional replies to anyone critical of this "business". Prospective customers, I highly recommend none of you spend your money at this place, you can see their horrible attitude to customers in many of their replies to the 1-star reviews.
