Went before Ramadan for dinner and the burger was not pleasant but the service was not the worst. I ordered a double burger which was not very well made and kept falling apart. My hands were very messy compared to eating other burgers. I was looking forward to the burger as I had tried a bite of my family member's burger just before ordering mine and liked it, but mine was completely different. My hands got very messy and I didn't like the texture of the burger patties. It wasn't crispy as with other smash burgers or even the one I had just tried prior, it was like a regular burger which is not what the advertising for iyycburg shows. The fries were nice, hot and crispy but the trays the food is served on is too small for the burger and fries. The cleanliness of the tables could be a lot better as I had to check 4 different tables before finding one that was satisfactorily clean. Two tables had food pieces on them and 1-2 were sticky. Had to sit on the bar stools which was not the most comfortable experience. The staff member asked how I found my food and seemed interested in knowing my answer which I appreciated. However, other than advising to state my preferences next time (in a decent manner, not rudely), there was no incentive/compensation offered for a future visit. I also shouldn't have to state my preference for a smash burger to have a crust on it when it was what the one prior had, and more importantly, is how a smash burger should be. I personally wouldn't recommend this restaurant and am not likely to visit again as the food and visit was disappointing. 3 stars to be fair to the fries which were good but other than that, the burger was a big disappointment, especially for a place that has burgers as the main attraction and advertisement.

Disappointing Experience Compared to Other Location I came to IYYC Burgers with high expectations, having previously visited their south Calgary location and enjoyed a great experience. Unfortunately, this visit in Sage Hill was disappointing. Service & Communication The service felt rushed, and communication was difficult. With the grill and equipment noise right at the counter, and a very soft-spoken staff member assisting us, I had to ask several times for clarification. It made the ordering process less smooth than it should be. Food Quality The most concerning issue was the excessive grease. Both burgers were literally dripping, which took away from what could have otherwise been a decent product. The patties themselves weren’t bad, but the overall execution made them hard to enjoy. I also asked for ketchup and mustard, but only received a very small amount—unclear whether this was intentional or an extra charge. Poutine Feedback The poutine had potential but missed the mark. The fries were actually quite good, and the gravy was acceptable. However, the cheese curds were clearly cold and did not melt at all—likely because they were taken straight from refrigeration and the gravy wasn’t hot enough to compensate. This detail alone significantly impacts the experience, as properly melted curds are essential to a good poutine. There were also too few curds overall. Value & Overall Experience For a meal that came to over $60 (two burgers, a drink, and a milkshake), I expected a much higher standard—especially from what presents itself as a premium burger spot. At that price point, excellence in preparation, presentation, and service is not optional. Regrettably, this experience did not meet expectations, and I’m unlikely to return to this location. I do hope this is an isolated issue, as my previous visit to the south Calgary location was very positive. Consistency matters, especially for a growing brand.

I got the double smash with fries. It was a very well made burger. It wasn't overly greasy , which is nice. A little crisp on the outside 👌🏻. Next time I'll get the triple for sure. Fries were crispy and light. Didn't feel overly greasy or salty as well. Very well made 👍🏻

Greeted by & order taken by Staff Karan. Felt welcome & greeted w/a smile. Didn’t wait long for my food & it was above average to say the least. Poutine was great side dish for my burger w/swiss cheese. Word of caution; small regular poutine is way bigger than expected. Overall experience enjoyable.

Tried YYC Burger in Sage Hill and honestly had a really disappointing experience. The fries tasted really odd, almost like they were cooked in super old oil. Even the burger patty had that same old-oil flavour, which was hard to ignore. Service was just as bad. One lady shouted “HEY, YOUR FOOD IS READY” at me in a really angry tone or I dont understand, with this smirk and raised-eyebrow look. I even asked her to repeat it because I wasn’t sure what was going on, and she just said “your food is ready” again, still with attitude. Overall, not worth it. Definitely not coming back until they fix both the service and the quality of the food.
