White Elephant Thai Cuisine is the true definition of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” The entrance is tucked away at the back with a sign, and from the outside it looks pretty ordinary. But once you step inside, it’s lively, colorful, and filled with Thai decor that gives the place a fun, welcoming atmosphere. The papaya salad was refreshing, flavorful, and came in a generous portion. The shrimp tom yum was comforting, tangy, and really hit the spot. I also enjoyed the eggplant Thai basil, which was tasty and well-seasoned. To finish, the Thai longan iced tea was a nice sweet drink to wash everything down. Service was friendly, and the portions were large for the price. While it may not be the best Thai food I’ve ever had, it was still very good overall and worth checking out. I’d definitely return.

Food had good flavour overall, but the portions were a bit small. The Tom Yum pricing was odd, small bowl was $13 and large was $19, with nothing in between. The soup itself leaned on the sweeter side rather than the usual spicy/sour balance. Chicken satay skewers were decent, but not particularly memorable. Ambience definitely felt authentically Thai though, which was a nice touch.

We were up from Ontario and wanted to find a Thai restaurant for lunch. When we pulled up to the building we thought it was a big sketch looking so we quickly read some reviews and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed…we ordered salad rolls, mango salad, peanut stir fry with chicken and one other entree. Can’t remember the name but it was a curry bowl. We were both so happy with our choices. The food was DELICIOUS, service was wonderful!! We had lots of time to kill before our flights home and the staff were so friendly and attentive. We would definitely go here again next time we’re in town!!

A few hours ago, my family arrived in Canada for our summer road trip. We needed a place to eat, so we headed here, and it was AMAZING! All of the food and drinks were great and the lady who was serving us (perhaps she was the owner?) was super patient and nice! Probably the kindest person I have ever met while traveling (and that is saying a lot considering my family and I travel a lot). Despite the fact the restaurant was closed, she still let us get two orders of mango sticky rice to go! My family and I will be going here again for the rest of our trip (๑･̑◡･̑๑)💕 (P.S. the photo I attached of the mango sticky rice was taken to go)

The restaurant has such a festive atmosphere with colourful lit signs that really add to the fun vibe of the space. Service was quick and efficient, which made the whole dining experience smooth and enjoyable. The food had that comforting, home-taste quality that makes you want to keep coming back. Great service all around and a lovely place to grab a meal.
