Mazza
A spacious, upscale Afghan restaurant on 8 Avenue SE downtown - qabuli pulao, chapli kebab, lamb shank and dumplings in a dining room much nicer than the typical kebab-house setup, which is the reason to pick it if you want Afghan cooking somewhere you would take someone. What to order Bolani to start, then mantu and the biryani rice. The naan is baked soft to order, and the fried fish and the kebabs both come out juicy. Sheer yakh is the dessert to finish on. Portions are generous for the price band. Good to know The music runs loud, which reviewers who came for a quiet meal mention. It is not perfectly consistent. A minority describe dishes that did not match the menu photographs or the reputation - the score is 4.5 rather than higher because of it. Reservations accepted, with lunch, dinner and dessert, a restroom and free parking. Rated 4.5 from more than 550 Google reviews.
