If you’re into Nashville Hot Chicken, Burnin Bird is a great spot to try. I went for the Xtra Hot once and it was honestly too much for me, but I’m still glad I tried it. Since then, I usually stick with the hot level, which hits a better balance. The flavor is really good, not just heat for the sake of it, and the chicken itself tastes fresh every time.

Amazing staff, helped a lot with the menu as well, very quick to order and got my food in 5 minutes. I ordered a mozzarella stick with ranch on the side, you can choose comeback sauce but I prefer ranch, the spice level was medium but it was so perfect and crispy and cheesy! definitely will go back for more! Please check it out when you can very delicious!

Dave’s hot chicken is trash compared to burnin bird! They also have really good fried Oreos! Hot is a nice flavour level of spice. Might do extra hot next time!!

That's when Burnin Bird caught my eye. Thank you Abby #Just #Delicious Friday afternoon in downtown Calgary, and I was just wandering around doing my usual guide-thing — checking out the streets, watching people go by, looking for something new to try. That's when Burnin Bird caught my eye. The front patio was just sitting there looking so inviting, string of people walking past, sun still out, that perfect Friday energy in the air. I thought, why not, let's grab a seat and see what this place is about. Sat down on the patio and honestly it was the perfect spot to just relax and watch downtown go by. So many lovely people walking around, good vibes all around. Then Abby came to take care of us and wow, she was amazing. Friendly, quick, made sure we had everything we needed the whole time. That kind of service makes the whole meal better before the food even shows up. We ordered the mozza sticks first and I was not ready for how gigantic they were. Like actual thick, loaded, cheese-pulling-a-mile mozza sticks. So good. Crispy on the outside, melty cheese just stretching out with every bite. Then came the real star — the chicken tenders with fries, cheese, and coleslaw all loaded together. Everything about it worked. The fries were soaked in that cheesy goodness, the tenders were crispy and juicy, and the coleslaw on top gave it this fresh crunch that balanced out all the richness. We went with the mild spice level and it was honestly perfect — enough flavor without being overwhelming, great for anyone who isn't into a ton of heat. Overall this easily lands in my top 5 spots downtown. Great food, great patio, and Abby made the whole experience even better. If you're ever walking around downtown Calgary on a nice day, this is a stop worth making.
