Canmore Recreation Centre
Reviews of Canmore Recreation Centre
from GoogleA local friendly rink which is well maintained and fairly priced. Very clean and ice is well preserved before each session. Best time is a weekday 2pm to 3.30pm. Home to the Canmore Eagles Junior Hockey Club. It was a privilege to skate here all the way from the UK. I shall be back! 🇨🇦👊😎
We were here for a kids' hockey tournament and the facility is quite nice overall. Note that they did not have enough dressing rooms to provide separate female dressing rooms for female players. It’s worth noting the difference between the two rinks. The Alex Kaleta rink is great and much more comfortable for spectators. However, the other smaller rink has bleachers that were really uncomfortable to sit on for the duration of the games. If you're scheduled for that side, I’d highly recommend bringing your own stadium seat or a thick cushion! And maybe a blanket. Overall, a solid community center with friendly staff, just a bit of a literal pain for the parents in the smaller rink!
Learn to be a Canadian Hockey Player! A very memorable experience at The Canmore Recreation Centre! We had the rare opportunity to suit up like a professional hockey player. The experience starts off with an emotional video showing the extreme love Canadians have for hockey. We were then taken into the locker rooms to get the gear on. It was hysterical to watch everyone lace up their skates to head out onto the ice. The coaches were great sports, you can tell this is their life passion. The facility is very clean and well kept. They have two ice rinks and lots of seating for spectators. The management really takes pride in this facility. I highly recommend this experience. They even give you a certificate of achievement at the end! It's a really fun and unique way to spend the day!!
I play pickleball here. Their are 2 courts during the winter months that are used. If you work up a sweat, feel free to escape to the ice hockey rink to chill out for abit
Went here a few times. Twice for a band festival, once for a hockey game. The gym space we used for our band festival was nice and intimate, and it offered a great view of the mountains. The rink is fairly nice. Decent sound system, good fans, decent concessions. But I would be crazy to not talk about how AMAZING the seats were. I have never found cozier seats in any other hockey rink. I practically sunk into my seat when I was there! Just wish the ice was better quality. So many slips and trips on the rough grooves...
About Canmore Recreation Centre
The Canmore Recreation Centre at 1900 8 Avenue in Canmore hosts Friday Jumu'ah, held here by the Bow Valley Muslim Association: a khutbah, then one prayer. The building is the town's recreation centre, not a mosque.

Arrive in time for the khutbah, and check the time before you go.
