Al-Madinah Calgary Islamic Center
Reviews of Al-Madinah Calgary Islamic Center
from GoogleWriting Dear Respected Leadership of Al Madina Islamic Centre, Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. The mosques are the houses of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) and among the sacred symbols of Islam. Therefore, protecting and preserving them, including ensuring the correctness of the prayer, is a serious responsibility. At your mosque, individuals are sometimes allowed to lead the prayer even though they do not have sufficient ability to recite the Holy Qur'an correctly and are not familiar with the rules of Tajweed. This morning, an elderly Indian man led the prayer. His pronunciation of the Qur'anic letters contained serious mistakes that changed the meanings of the verses and, in our understanding, invalidated the prayer. We believe that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) will hold the responsible person accountable on the Day of Judgment for allowing this to happen. We are deeply concerned when our prayers are affected by incorrect recitation. Therefore, we respectfully request that you fear Allah and remember the Hereafter, and that you prevent this elderly Indian man from leading the prayer unless he is able to recite the Qur'an correctly according to the rules of Tajweed. May Allah guide us all to protect His religion and accept our prayers. With respect.
This Islamic center has a welcoming atmosphere and provides a valuable space for the community, but it could use a little more attention to cleanliness and detail. It’s on the smaller side, which makes it cozy, but there are areas that could benefit from some cleaning and maintenance. Despite this, the overall environment is friendly, and it’s still a great place to worship and gather. Overall, it is a good experience, but there’s room for improvement in terms of organization and cleanliness.
