Alhamdullillah and congratulations to the Ummah for this beautiful home of Allah. Prayed Jummah at Green Dome Mosque on Friday March 27 2026 and it was a beautiful experience. Joined the first prayers advertised for 2:00pm. Call to prayers was at 2:02 and the Khutbah was short and direct only lasting for about 7 minutes. Iqamah was at 2:09pm. Very spacious mosque, clean, organized and well maintained. Even with the snow, ample parking space with enough volunteers to keep the traffic flowing. I recommend this place when you find yourself in North East Calgary. Note that at the time of visit, they advertised three Jummah prayer times: 2pm, 2:45pm and 3:30pm

Went to their free bbq event, it was absolutely terrible. The attitude of the people giving the burgers was terrible. They were extremely rude and giving food like the people are standing there getting charity. Even when you give charity you should do it in a nice way where you treat ppl nicely in islam. These people of the masjid had bad attitude and treating people terribly who were there to enjoy the event, who were standing in the rainy weather in the lines for literally 2 hours, they were standing there supporting the masjids event in the rain. No one needed to stay there. Just because its free doesnt mean that people should be treated badly. They all came to make the masjids event successful, not to be treated like beggars. After waiting 2 hours in the line they gave a single sausage and refused to give burger patties even though they had plenty that came. They were not even giving food for the elders who were sitting on the seats because they couldn't stand for two hours in the line. They were being rude when we asked to give for my mother who had to sit on the seat and couldn't stand in the line. They said they wont give anyone extra for someone not in line. How absolutely disgusting. How can an old woman stand in that cold rainy line for two hours. That is basic complet disrespect. It was such disgusting stingy behavior from the people of GOD. Disgusting. What are they teaching the future generations of Muslims going to their schools. Even the kids from their school volunteering there were showing such rude attitude. Honestly it was such a sad thing to see from our Muslim community I have never been to such a disrespectful mosque before in my life. I feel bad for the people who get charity from this mosque, when they treat people coming to their fun events like this, imagine how they must give to needy people, how rude they must be. I will never be donating here again until they dont change their awful attitude. I would give to a masjid who is good and respectful towards the poor, the way that ALLAH and the proplet pbuh told. It was extremely sad. We literally came from 35 mins away for this event. I had no idea it would be like this. They treated their guests terribly. I have been to many other masjid events where people are so nice. They should not do such events if they cant manage them. Change your attitudes and I dont understand all the people still going there being okay about being treated like that. Terrible. We left the place without food after waiting for two hours because they treated us so badly. We only went to support the event and have fun, but those ppl were treating everyone like beggars. Be respectful towards the people. No one here is in need of free food. ALLAH has given everyone plenty. They only come so they can support Islam and being their kids to islamic events. But this is what you are showing our kids. That Muslims are rude and stingy people. When islam teaches us to be the opposite. You made islam bad for people.

I attended this mosque’s recent free BBQ event with my family, and it was one of the worst experiences I have had due to poor management and rude behavior from several volunteers. At times, it even felt like some volunteers were acting as though the food was coming from their own personal money, rather than a community-funded event. The event was promoted as a community charity BBQ, but the actual experience did not reflect that message. There was poor organization, long waits in cold rain, weak communication, and no proper arrangements for elderly or vulnerable attendees, which made the event feel very different from how it was presented. Many attendees, who regularly support and donate to the mosque, were treated as if they were asking for charity rather than being welcomed guests. My elderly mother was refused food because she was not standing in the line, despite being unable to do so due to her age. After waiting for hours, we left without eating. The issue was not the food itself, but the lack of respect, organization, and basic courtesy.

We made genuine efforts to communicate with the school, but the level of carelessness shown toward the community has been disappointing. It’s especially concerning given the school’s message about being “for the community” and serving it—because that hasn’t reflected our experience. Many of us supported this school from the beginning. We contributed, helped, and placed our trust in its mission. It’s difficult to reconcile that with how things have turned out, where it now feels more like a for-profit operation than a community-centered institution. I would strongly encourage parents to do thorough research before enrolling their children. When commitments aren’t upheld, it raises serious concerns about values and direction.

Green dome should really consider having wheelchair ways and stop signs and they should lower the fees to 1000 or 2000 per child because it is really hard on parents to keep up the school fees and bills so please lower the fees and make it more accessible thank you :)
