I have to thank the entire team for providing such a memorable dining experience. From the warm welcome by the host, to our server and the server assistants throughout the evening, the hospitality was exceptional. The kitchen was equally impressive - it was genuinely one of the best dinners I’ve ever had. We were visiting Calgary to celebrate our engagement and were initially hesitant because we had been looking at restaurants with 4.5+ ratings. We decided to give this place a chance anyway, and I’m so glad we did. We started with the Stuffed Chicken Wings, Potato Donuts, and Major Tots. For our mains, we ordered the Dry-Aged Bone-In Striploin, Roasted Duck Breast, and a half portion of Gnocchi. Every dish was outstanding. The flavours were beautifully balanced, the seasoning was spot on, everything was cooked perfectly, and the presentation was excellent. It’s rare to have a meal where every single dish exceeds expectations, but this one did. Thank you again to everyone who made our celebration so special. We’ll absolutely be back the next time we’re in Calgary.

Major Tom absolutely deserves every bit of praise it gets. This was our second time dining here, and once again the experience was incredible from start to finish. The first time we came was for a date night celebrating my wife’s birthday, and honestly that visit is what set the tone for us wanting to come back. We were overwhelmed by the menu and unsure what to order, but our waiter took so much time walking us through the options. He gave honest recommendations about what he thought we would enjoy, what might not suit our tastes, and what dishes paired best together. We ended up going with several shareable plates, and he even explained the best order to eat everything for the perfect flavour combinations. I really wish I remembered his name because he truly made the night special. More recently, I came back for lunch with some coworkers and had another amazing experience with a different waiter who was just as attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. It’s rare to find a restaurant where the service is consistently this good. The food is absolutely top shelf, the atmosphere is incredible, and the views from the 40th floor make the entire experience even better. Whether it’s a work lunch, a date night, or a special occasion, Major Tom creates the perfect environment for every occasion. Highly recommend this place, the staff alone make it worth visiting, and the food somehow manages to exceed expectations every time.

We had a great time, the food was delicious, we got the bone dry steak and the duck breast, phenomenal! Also got the steak tartare and crab roll, which were great too. The Alaska desert a bit too sweet for me but enjoyed the presentation. The view was amazing, we asked to change our seat for a better view which the super friendly staff did it for us immediately. However, the highlight of the night was our server “Jay”, he was so funny and super professional, he made our anniversary night a special and memorable night. We will never forget the cocktail he suggested for the rest of our life, it was one of the best we have ever had.

Overall a decent experience at Major Tom. The drinks were good, but nothing of note. The rigatoni was okay, but underwhelmed after reading several outstanding reviews. The meat in the sauce was slightly dry and bland. The gnocchi and cheese toast was excellent. The carrot side dish was also good. The steaks were well done and tasty. The women’s bathroom was dirty and could use a renovation as well as some updates needed in the main dining area. We had excellent service and our waitress was excellent. A good experience but don’t feel a need to rush back.

Major Tom’s was a great experience from start to finish. The views were stunning, the atmosphere felt special, and the food was excellent. Our table ordered the steak frites, dry‑aged bone‑in striploin, campanelle, and cheesy toast. The fries were perfectly cut, extremely crisp, and well‑seasoned. My colleagues said their steak frites were phenomenal, and my dry‑aged striploin was rich, tender, and cooked exactly right. Caroline provided outstanding service. She was warm, friendly, and full of great suggestions on cuts of meat, dessert, and the menu overall. She even arranged for the team to sign a card for my friends celebrating their anniversary. They were visiting from Winnipeg and felt incredibly welcomed. The only challenge was getting there from the Core. The second and third elevators weren’t working, so navigating up took a bit of trial and error. Thankfully, the first elevator was running smoothly, but the detour wasn’t ideal. Once inside, everything was fantastic. The food, the views, and especially Caroline’s and the team's service made the night memorable. Major Tom’s is absolutely worth the visit.
